Peanut Blossoms

Recipe from:  Pillsbury's Best Butter Cookie Cookbook Vol. III

Sift together:

1 3/4 c all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Cream together:

1/2 c butter

1/3 c peanut butter

Gradually add:

1/2 c sugar

1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar


1 unbeaten egg

1 tsp Vanilla

Beat well

Blend in the dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly.

Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each.  Roll balls in sugar and place on greased baking sheets

Bake at 375o for 8 minutes.  Remove from oven.  Top each cookie with a solid milk chocolate candy kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge.  Return to oven; bake 2 to 5 minutes longer until golden brown. 

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
