Reunion Island - last stop before returning to Port Lewis

Reunion Island was again a very hilly set of islands. Main road circles the island near the coast and only a couple of roard wander through the mountains from one coast to the other. One half of the island road was closed due to mudslides from the cyclone and we missed an excursion that went that way as it would take amost all day to drive around he other way.

Port at Reunion Island - note hill cloud covered

Steep cliffs on part of island where mudslides blocked the road.

Emilee in one of the gardens we visited.

Flowers were blooming everywhere we went.

Very unusual trees growing all around

An interesting flowering shrub with red pods that was evident from far away because of the color.

Another flowering shrub with a bird like flower. Needed a guide with knowledge of horticulture.
